I was born in Tehran, Iran. I had training in classical drawing and painting at young age, the study of nature as a rule was the only path to achieve artistic goals. When I moved to USA I continued my eduction in art, and I developed an appreciation for modern art. It showed me wonderful other ways of thinking, problem solving, and seeing new angles in nature.
"I am the nature!" That was Jackson Pollack's answer when he was encouraged to study more from nature. I was fascinated with the concept to create instantaneous art from intuition; To connect from within and project an action to make a powerful and lasting impact. To understand this concept one needs to break away from conventional forms of art, and visualize music like. Elements of design such as harmony, rhythms, color, echo, contrast were now more of a subject matter to study. In this familiarity I found a sense of wonder in mysteries of unknown imagery. The New York Abstract Expressionism inspired me and opened my eyes to a whole new ways to paint. I developed an understanding and I sought out the surreal quality and revolutionary ideas of this school of expressionism.
But to work in modern art is to be compatible with its time. We are living in the age of computers. It is becoming an increasingly necessary tool in every aspect of our life. In arts computers dominate graphics, animation, and photography. Digital fine art has become a field of its own. 3D printing will soon ease creating sculptures. In two demential art what computer generated may compromise in textures or architectonic surfaces they compensate in special effects and unprecedented imagery. The creative process has not changed but it has made it more available to the artists and patrons. I have come to appreciate these qualities and prefer to do paintings in computers. I use pixels instead of pigments, mouse and key strokes instead of pen and brush strokes.
These works are about the emptiness with potential. From unknown to unknown, and in between there are these array of events and incidents, that is life. I take an action instantaneously and it leads to another and I choose to save or overwrite. From an existential point of view I paint therefore I am. It's about mystery of life, an enigma. My intent is to create metaphors of life and to depict images beyond what appears to be.
